May Pole Centerpiece
Dancing around the Maypole is a springtime tradition in many parts of the world. Even if your children can't participate in the real thing, they will have lots of fun creating this festive little table-top version!
What You Need
• 1 bag each of SWEETARTS and SPREE
• 1 empty paper towel roll
• 1 - 8 1/2 inch by 11 inch sheet of purple construction paper
• Cellophane tape
• Blue and green ribbon (approximately 8 feet of each)
• 4 9 inch square Astroturf samples or an 18 inch square (found at a local hardware store)
• 1 - 20 inch by 30 inch sheet of white foam core
• Craft glue gun
How To Make It
1. • Cut a piece of foam core to measure 18 inches high by 18 inches wide.
2. • Glue the Astroturf to the foam core. This will be the base that the may pole sits on.
3. • Cover an empty paper towel roll with purple construction paper. Secure it with cellophane tape or glue.
4. • Decorate the roll with flowers made from SWEETARTS and SPREE candy.
5. • Cut 12 ribbons, 15 inches in length, 6 blue and 6 green.
6. • Alternating blue and green, tape them to the top inside of the paper towel roll.
7. • Using a craft glue gun, glue the maypole to the Astroturf base.
